House Warming Gift

Pieced and quilted these
placemats and table runner
as a house warming gift for our
daughter and son-in-law.

Next up - the last of the baby projects before the baby is born.

Happy New Year!

Quilted Car Seat Cover

Made a quilted car seat cover with left overs from other nursery projects.  The backing is a soft, minky type fabric, very snuggly and warm.  There are plenty of tutorials floating around for these, I just kinda winged it after reading a few.

We are all anxious to see a baby occupy this seat....we only have a few weeks to wait!

Christmas Quilt Finished

During our fall retreat I started making Christmas blocks.

Last week I finished this Christmas quilt top.

But I just didn't like it so.....
I did my best froggy impression,
 rip-it, rip-it, rip-it,
reassemble and LOVE IT!

This quilt will look great on the back of our living room sofa.

I've been collecting these fabrics for several years,
so happy to finally have a Christmas quilt!

I quilted just the white strips,
maybe I'll go back and do more quilting - just not sure yet.

Enjoy preparing for this special time of year!

Another Baby Project

Just finished this adorable (in my opinion) baby project.
It's a fuzzy, lovey (as we call them)
with ribbon tags for texture and fun.

Of course the idea came from Pinterest,
and unfortunately the colors aren't the best in this picture.

Note:  for safety, the eye is just thread.
Sewn by going around and around free motion style
in a tiny circle with the sewing machine.

This week I also completed a window topper for the nursery
and a quilted cover for the infant car seat.
I will post pictures after they are in use.

This weekend I hope to make the crib bed skirt and
bumper pads.  Then I think the baby sewing will be complete,
well at least for now!

Enjoy your weekend!
