A First and a Finish

First quilt finished in our new home.....
which leads to a new challenge:  trying to find places to photo projects at our new home

The old park bench, I used this at our previous home.

A small tree, works for this 42" square quilt but it won't work for anything larger.
The greenery brings out the green in the quilt.

A bed of vinca vine, I like the texture it gives to the background.

And the old faithful rocking chair, it's falling apart so won't be used much longer or
maybe I'll just put it in the flower bed.

Anybody recognize the milk box?
It's originally from my hubby's home town, although we didn't buy it there.

Quilting detail, feathers, not too bad for an amateur!

I was privileged to go with a friend to my first quilt show last week.
Wow, all the loveliness and how humbling but I won't let that
stop me from making my simple projects.

Enjoying our lovely weather today!

A little quilting.......

Life here has been revolving around preparations for our younger daughter's wedding.  It's just two weeks away and all is going as planned.  So I took a little time this week to quilt.

This little gem went together quickly, it's 42 inches square.  The "sandwich" has been made, now to the machine quilting.  Hoping to get this done before next week when I need to start baking.

See the lovely view from my sewing room window!  The room is on the 2nd floor and a nice shade tree serves as my curtain.  I appreciate the natural light but the neighbors can't see what I'm up too.

Enjoy your day!

Sun bleaching table linens

Yesterday, Andrea and I found 2 Christmas Tablecloths at a local yard sale.

I soaked overnight, added some hydrogen peroxide this morning and washed.
I've heard that putting wet linens on green grass helps to bleach them.
It seems to be working.

The 3rd tablecloth I found many years ago at a thrift store and
currently use it everyday on my kitchen table.
It has been stained since the day I purchased it, but I don't see them now.
I'm thinking this is just too easy -
maybe I can't see the stains with the sun reflecting off all that white.

Time will tell!

This week around our home

Found a great recipe for snickerdoodles,

and caught a glimpse of this visitor, hope he sticks around for the winter.
Picture's not the greatest, it was taken through the screen window.

Back to work on wedding projects, less than a month until the big day.

Enjoy your day!
