Hutch - updated and ready for use

Purchased this 1978 hutch for use in our breakfast nook.
Our kitchen is small so this is for extra storage space.

I painted dark gray, then creamy white, followed by
a glaze of the dark gray.
The distressing was done with a putty knife.

The completed hutch.....

....now loaded.

Details of the distressing.....

The little knobs are original, spray painted to look like
aged iron.

The pulls are new, but spray painted to match the knobs.

And finally the whole picture....
Now my question, the glass top table will be replaced,
but with what?  I want wood, but round, square or rectangular?
Any thoughts?

This project was intensive, be I'm pleased with the outcome.

Enjoy your weekend!
Carolyn

*updated to add this photo with a vintage table cloth.
Thanks Aunt Lois for the suggestion.

Mother's Day = New Barn Quilt

.

For Mother's Day, my daughter painted this barn quilt.
It's 2'x2' canvas, so will remain inside.

Isn't is lovely?
I sure think so......thanks Andrea!

Projects for our "new" home.....

This is the first project I made in my new sewing room.
Just a simple little towel.

Next, this kitchen curtain.  Just had to hem the top and bottom.
It's a simple rectangle of fabric, clipped to the rings and
then a portion pulled up and clipped again.
The possibilities are endless.

Now to painting this hutch.
This will take much longer to complete
but I'm hoping it will help with storage
in my small kitchen.

What projects are you working on?
