A big package for me...

I came home from work today to find 2 packages waiting for me!

The smaller package contained sewing machine attachments.......hmmmm

Look a box inside a box and lots of packing materials.....

And now the "prize inside".....

A 1951 Singer Featherweight portable sewing machine.
With the original manual and lots of attachments.
It's beautiful, hard to believe it's 61 years old.

It works like it is brand new!
When I sat down to thread it, it was like stepping back into time with my
mother's Singer sewing machine.  She didn't have this model,
but the mechanisms are all the same.

These vintage machines are used by quilters across the country.
They are relatively light, come with a carrying case so are great for taking to classes, etc.
I purchased this one at this Etsy shop.
Bev, the seller, was delightful to work with, I had so many questions.

Now I just need a class or retreat to go to.....
wait I have one scheduled in September - big smile!!!

I had read many blog posts about these nifty machines but
after seeing one in action while on vacation
I started my search and found a gem!
I knew that Christmas money I had been saving
for so many years would come in handy one day :)
